Lone competitor
Anthony Brittain, holding his wet EGBUS T-shirt and flanked, left to right,
by Lions Roger Sutcliffe, Brendan Joyce and Mike Barty, swam to raise funds
for EGBUS and EGDART to draw attention to their desperate need for additional
drivers. EGBUS is a charity-based service operated mainly, but not exclusively
for the benefit of disabled and elderly groups of people who don’t have
access to their own door to door transport. EGDART is a Dial-a-Ride vehicle
and both of them can transport people in their wheelchairs. Volunteer drivers,
who need an ordinary driving licence, may give as much or as little time
as they can spare.
